-
The following Addins are now available on the Addin page:

The Addin Gear Builder was modified so an Addin can define a knot. Three new knots are now available
as Addins (e.g., Inline Figure-8,
Münter, and Safety).
-
A More Gear option was added to the Insert menu. This takes you to the
Addin page on this website.
-
The name of the built-in ascender was changed to "Ascender (Croll)" to reduce confusion
with the new Petzl Ascension ascenders that are available as Addins.

The default weight of a Load was changed from 100 kg to 200 lb.
-
Version 4.1 includes the minor changes made on September 19th

Version 4.0 -- September 19, 2004 -- Minor Update |
This is a minor update to version 4.0. The following
changes were made:
-
The error handling pertaining to invalid Addin Gear files was
improved.
-
If an Addin does not support any gear or rope connections, it is displayed
behind other
gear. This lets you create an Addin that is a background image (e.g., a rock wall or
building).

Version 4.0 -- August 18, 2004 -- Minor Update |
This is a minor update to version 4.0. The
following change was made:
Version 4.0 -- July 18, 2004 -- New Version |
RescueRigger version 4.0 is a major upgrade from previous versions.
The following summarizes the enhancements.
New Addin
Gear Builder |
- Version 4.0 features the Addin Gear Builder. This lets you add your own gear to
RescueRigger. You can specify how other gear and ropes connect to your gear, the default friction and strength, the icon to display in the
Gear Panel,
and much more. You can even use the Addin Gear Builder to add your logo to RescueRigger's illustrations.

- Several of the new pieces of gear in version 4.0 were implemented as Addins
(including all the people). In addition, you can download a large selection of Addins from RescueRigger.com/Addins. You can
also upload your Addin gear to share it with other users of RescueRigger.

| |
IMPORTANT NOTE: To create an Addin, you will need to create the gear images using graphic
editing software, such as Photoshop, and store the images as bitmap files. |
| |
People! |
- The following images of rescuers have been added to RescueRigger. These people were added
using the new Addin Gear Builder. You can use the Addin Gear Builder to add your own images to
RescueRigger.

-
A new category, named People, has been added to the Gear Panel.
- Two new Addins display victims in the litters.

| |
New Gear |
| |

- Added a Petzl Kootenay Pulley.

- Added a Double Pulley with a Becket. This double pulley has two sheaves. The
double pulley was added using the new Addin Gear Builder.

- Added an I-Beam. This is a great addition for industrial rescue teams.

- Added Pipe. The pipe can be used for industrial rescue or as a guardrail. The
pipe was added using the new Addin Gear Builder.

Enhanced Gear |
- You can "wrap 3 pull 2" around most anchors, including rocks, tires, and
trees. This is done by right-clicking on the anchor and choosing "Wrap 3 pull 2" from the anchor's shortcut menu. If you create an Addin using the new Addin
Gear Builder, you can specify if the gear supports "wrap 3 pull 2."

- Improved the Float Gear on Rope command. This command (which is available in the
shortcut menus and by pressing F9) now works on more pieces of gear, across multiple ropes, and rotates the gear in
the correct orientation.

- Carabiners now support three connections. Previous versions supported two connections.

- The Rigging Plate can be rotated. This allows many more configurations.

- The Load Release (round) can now connect
directly to a rope. Previous versions only
connected to other hardware.

| Other Improvements |
- Pressing Shift+Tab now selects the previous piece of gear (pressing Tab has
always selected the next piece of gear).
- An "Include unchecked gear in shortcut menu" has been added to the Options
dialog. For example, if you choose to not display the Piton in the Gear Panel, and you have this option checked,
typing "P" will still display the Piton in the shortcut menu.
- A message acknowledging that the system was created using RescueRigger has been added to printed
images. This has always been a stipulation in the license agreement. This can be
disabled from the Options dialog.
- The Load Release (strap) was modified to allow two (rather than one) carabiners to be
connected to each D-ring.
- The Help file was updated to include the changes listed on this page. Be sure to press F1
if you have questions about a new feature.
- Updated the online Reference Card and Tutorial.
- Reduced the amount of time required to display the Options dialog.
- Several other minor changes were made.
